222 EMERGING ARTISTS TO INVEST IN – 2024
Andrea Grotto and Andreas Zampella have been selected for the 2024 edition of “222 Emerging Artists to Invest In”, an editorial project that year after year has established itself as one of the key platforms for observing and interpreting the most current developments in contemporary art active in Italy.
The volume stems from a broad and articulated selection process coordinated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, which for the 2024 edition involved 100 new contributors compared to the previous year. Critics, curators, independent spaces, research galleries, and specialized journalists contributed to a widespread and cross-disciplinary mapping effort developed throughout the country.
Far from any encyclopedic ambition, the project offers a conscious and intentionally partial snapshot dedicated to emerging Italian artists — as well as international artists who have been active within the national context for years — capable of engaging with the tensions and transformations of the present.
In this sense, the volume functions not only as a reference tool for art professionals — gallerists, curators, critics, and collectors — but also as an open critical device capable of fostering new readings and perspectives on emerging artistic research. The inclusion of Grotto and Zampella fits within this framework as a recognition of the strength and relevance of their practices within the contemporary debate.
