EMERGING ITALIAN FUTURES

Skin to Skin, Bone to Bone

Martina Zanin

May 18 – June 30, 2026

BCC Banca di Udine, Viale Tricesimo 35

Promoted by Gruppo BCC Iccrea as part of the BCC Arte&Cultura programme, Futuri Emergenti Italiani is a nationwide exhibition dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging Italian artists under the age of 35. For its 2026 edition, 101 artists were selected, with their works presented across branches of the Credito Cooperativo banking network throughout Italy, strengthening the connection between local communities, regional identities, and contemporary artistic practices. Within this framework, Martina Zanin, a Friuli-born artist, was selected to represent the city of Udine.

For the occasion, Zanin presented Skin to Skin, Bone to Bone at the Credito Cooperativo branch in Udine. Through photography, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition explored the relationship between intimacy and vulnerability, examining the tension between desire and transformation.

At the conclusion of the project, Zanin’s work Shrinking Violet was acquired by BCC Udine and became part of the bank’s permanent collection, where it remains on view at the Udine branch. The acquisition marks an important recognition of the artist’s practice, now firmly established on the international contemporary art scene, while reaffirming the bank’s commitment to supporting local talent and contributing to the long-term enrichment of the region’s cultural heritage.
